Welcome!

1 March 2009

Let the OT Party begin! Finally I am ready to start releasing music from the Original Trilogy. The new single for ANHv2 is complete, and titled:

A New Hope: SINGLE!

" A New Hope"

This is a version of "Princess Leia's Theme" with a bit of Luke's "heroic" theme thrown in. Perhaps not the most original single material, but the Princess' theme is one of my favorites. I struggled to do something different, and I think I have.

Also included in this single is an exclusive OT Preview track, giving a glimpse of things to come, especially a sound rework of the ROTJ score. This track originally was a bit different, and supposed to be used for an OT Supertrailer, years ago. That project never made it off the ground. Here you get to enjoy it.

Don't forget to download the other singles and suites for STAR WARS: Symphony of a Saga. All files have been re-uploaded as of today. Suites are available in both tracked and suite form. All files are available in three formats: 192 MP3, 320 MP3, and FLAC (Lossless).

However, I have discontinued the FLAC versions of the tracked suites. Constantly re-uploading files is a on my time and patience. Not many people listen to FLAC as it is, but if you want to listen to this work in the highest quality, listen to it as it was intended in lossless suite form.

Its amazing how little you get done when the personal life attacks.

Finally here is the artwork for the Revenge of the Sith Suite.

Also, I will be re-uploading all the missing files shortly. Please be patient. Filefront.com is really starting to piss me off with how quickly they delete files lately.

Also, work on the ANHv2 single and suite is wrapping up. I wanted to have all of these done years ago, now. Oh well. The single is done, and expect to hear that and a bonus OT Preview track, shortly. I have a few tweaks on the suite before release.  Stay tuned, dear listeners.

I voluntarily have no life. Here is the artwork for the Attack of the Clones Suite. I hope you like...

9 June 2008

I am finally getting around to my cover art. This is something other artists have said they wanted to do, but never had much follow through with. Below is the artwork for The Phantom Menace Suite. I hope you like it, I am sure pleased with how it came out.

I'll be working on the other two suite covers in time. Let me know if you would like to help or submit any artwork. I would appreciate it.

4 February 2008

I have just uploaded FLAC versions of The Phantom Menace Suite, Attack of the Clones Suite, and the newly released Revenge of the Sith Suite. Both suite and tracked versions are uploaded.

That means all of Symphony for a Saga Version 2 - The Prequels has been uploaded. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

2 February 2008

I am pleased to announce that STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga - The Prequels is complete!

Revenge of the Sith Suite v2.0 is now available for download, here. Just as before, you can download this suite in MP3 or FLAC. ROTSv2 has taken over a year to complete, with 81 edits and a runtime of over 30 minutes, it is well worth the wait!

Please remember to drop me a line or reply at a message board to let me know what you think! Continued fan support is the only reason I continue working on this project!

Thanks to all who have emailed me over the last year, continually prodding me along. You are the reason this is now complete!

1 February 2008

Wow...two updates in a day. After a year of neglect, I'm actually working on the site again.

Now I have updated with a new section of the site: "The Making Of...STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga!" This section has screen caps and a detailed description of all the work I have put into this project. I spared some technical details, but someone without editing experience should be able to understand the process.

In addition, I expanded on all the facets I have put work into, in the hope of communicating exactly how much time and effort I put into this project.

So please, take the time to read up on all this, here.

1 February 2008

FYI...I just uploaded 320 Quality MP3 files of both the TPMv2 and AOTCv2, both suites and tracked versions.

30 January 2008

It is unbelievable to me how much time has passed away. Far too long has this project been neglected. Ready for release is the latest single, and the final preview from the prequel trilogy. I am pleased to present...

Revenge of the Sith: SINGLE!

This piece of music required a little creativity and the use of some unreleased and alternate music. While the last half of the track is essentially untouched, this theme comes to symbolize the battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker. To download the single, click here.

It is that time again. The latest addition to the Symphony for a Saga is finished. The Attack of the Clones Suite is now ready for download. As before, this work is released in two formats: first is a single 'Suite' file with a runtime of 24:06; the second is a series of 'Tracked' files which breaks the suite up into eight files.

I am in the process of uploading right now, and the following links will become active as they are finished! Enjoy, and please share your thoughts with me!

Finally, for release...Attack of the Clones: SINGLE !

A labor of love, this single highlights the romantic theme between Anakin and Padme. While "Across the Stars" is generally thought of as the romantic theme...according to Lucasfilm marketing campaigns...I would whole-heartedly disagree!

Fear not...the project is still alive. Before launching into Attack of the Clones, I'd like to quickly revisit The Phantom Menace. In the past few months, The Phantom Menace Suite has been downloaded over 500 times, with warm compliments all the way. Thanks so much!

Mike Malone has graciously given of his time to create cover art for the Symphony for a Saga single releases. Below is a thumbnail to view his cover art for Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn's Theme, along with a brief artist's statement:

I really wanted to have Qui-Gon be a strong central figure, as this is who the single is about. Not surprisingly, the music describing Qui-Gon is soft and flowing, with a little bit of "spunk." I think Williams accurately described his character. Qui-Gon is an intellectual icon of pacifism, patience, and stability. I chose a strong, defensive pose, but included his lightsaber as this is a defining feature of any Jedi's character.

I also took a reductionist view, placing Qui-Gon in the background of Naboo (which might also be described by the majority of the music) and giving the background more of a hand-drawn look. Too often the artistic elements of STAR WARS are over-looked, and the cover for this single is the perfect time to reemphasize the fact that Star Wars is also an artistic concept. Having Qui-Gon become a rendered figure from a 2D draft shows his ascendance out of this world and concepts into a valid symbol.

By keeling the background white, I intend to represent the symbolic purity of Qui-Gon, a talent that so many Jedi are losing at the time of THE PHANTOM MENACE. Yet, Qui-Gon's energy, displayed as similar to the green energy of his lightsaber blade, pervades the sky above Naboo (itself a peaceful, intellectual and rational planet), presenting him as a holy symbol of Jedi enlightenment to both Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi (which is what I think is Qui-Gon's dominant role in the saga). It also helps to cover the faster phrases in the single.

The single for Attack of the Clones will shortly be announced with Mike's new cover art. Stay tuned...and no, I'm not Mike.

STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga v2.0 is here!

At long last we finally see the release of The Phantom Menace Suite v2! Due to popular demand, the suite has been released in two formats. As before, the suite has been broken into individual tracks for those who can create a CD with a zero second track buffer, for seamless listening.

The second is a single 'Suite' track. Now you can listen to The Phantom Menace Suite from start to finish in one file, enjoying all 22+ minutes of this newly edited and expanded suite! Available for download, here.

Thanks for listening everyone! It should be pointed out that v1 has been downloaded by over 4,200 people from either this site or as a torrent file! Amazing...I wish I heard feedback from more people! Please send some in! The fans are the reason I do all this!

Don't forget the single for The Phantom Menace: Jedi Master, Qui-Gon Jinn's Theme is available for download in three audio formats here:

192kbps MP3

320kbps MP3

FLAC

Before the release of REVENGE OF THE SITH, STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga was released in April 2005 and was received by the fan community with open arms and in less than a year, was downloaded by over 4200 people! Still, the project was created at a rapid rate and could have used improvement. With that thought, the editor returned to his project in the summer of 2005 to rework, expand, and re-edit the entire symphony, paying close attention to detail and seamless edits.

A second goal was also in mind, a complete music video for the Symphony; a one of a kind work that all fans would be thrilled to have. However, the video editor removed himself from the project...and for a time Symphony for a Saga was left in the dust. Yet support from the fans remained, eager to listen to the new version.

This support serves as a reminder that an integral part of what makes STAR WARS films so magical for millions of fans around the world is the brilliant music of John Williams. This fabulous score has reached many on a very emotional level, and has become iconic in our world. The fans have been heard.

With over 150 edits and nearly 50 individual cues, STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga was a grand sweeping view of John Williams' music from the famous opening fanfare, through the story of the Skywalker family, and ending with a grand finale. Version 2.0 stands to improve upon this with more edits, more cues, unreleased music, detailed mastering, and liner notes.

Stay tuned...more is still to come....

Please submit your cover art ideas and concepts as well. If you are able to help with the video editing, please contact me.
